One Design Weekend
This past One Design Weekend put on by the South Coast Corinthian Yacht Club was a primer on great Race Committee work.
Bill Stump, Bruce Fleck and the gang over at one of the friendliest clubs on the Santa Monica bay did a wonderful job setting up 4 great races on Saturday.
After threatening early on Saturday evening to combine some of the next day’s starts due to an overall low turnout, the race committee came up with another stellar day of racing on Sunday, with a separate start in each of the remaining 3 races for the six boat fleet of Martin 242s.
After trading some paint at the weather mark with Shirley and Earle on Saturday and Velerito on Sunday it was Keith Kraemer’s “Lucky Jack” in first place. They seemed to be able to figure out the conditions which only became more shifty as the weekend went on. Mike George's “All In” took second place honors and Peter Stazicker’s “Trolleycar” took third place.
