2011 Champagne Series
The 2011 racing season has begun with the Champagne Series. On a Southern California style winter day, with beautiful blue skies and temperatures in the low 70's. The first of the two day event began with an easy 7 knot breeze.
The South Bay Yacht Racing Club race committee featured true upwind and downwind marks putting on four races perfect for one design racing. There's more great racing coming up next Saturday, come on down and join the fun.
Also featured was the debut of our newest member Carole Walsh driving Zip to a quartet of fourth place finishes. She calls Jim Durden’s old boat faired for use in the development of the new hull molds the “Faberge Egg”.
First, second and third places were filled by the usual suspects.
Congratulations go out to,
1st place Yumio Dornberg # 305
2nd place Mike George All In
3rd place Brack Duker Velerito
See all the results here.
I’ll see you on the water!
